Your words always touch that spot some refuse to acknowledge: judgement of those not of one's thought, look or life. Whilst moving on, laugh to the sounds of life felt, danced to and love. Earlier this evening, friends and I heard a band of musicians called Rum Ragged.. who were true and versatile musicians, their songs happy, at times using honest and - sometimes, lyrics that meant truth and more. At the end of performance the entire audience (yes in a rural village hall) stood as one giant happy, delighted. near blissful group of people who exited with grins, smiles and laughed aloud with strangers as they left. That exampled what music does to people and, more than probably into the next day. The joy of music.. absolutely whether or not folk music is a favourite.. but because it smiles the human spirit. Thank you, thank you for offering your wonderful words as a contented full stop/check to life!
'dance
let's all do the twist
and turn away from hate
the beat improves if we do
the rhythm is within us
if we give it a chance
to dance when the swallows fly'
Beautiful. You have a way of making things - general and otherwise - better and calmly. Your words are placed just so - realistic yet gently. You - like Ken, make the world a brighter and wiser place. Pointing
the way to sanity, reality, beauty and more - much more. Your more is precious.
( Forgive my spiel at the start of my review, but am still with that music!)

The music is still in us. It never leaves. However things like hatred, bigotry twisted philosophies and others can deform it and turn the songs into noise pollution. Sometimes, I choose to get away from it all. I try to get a little seclusion from the economic pressure, toxic neighbors and the depressing state of the world so that I can clear my head and plug into the music once more. Then I give it back to the world. After all, I can only give what I have. So I do all I can to detoxify my mind so that I can reload and maintain the music. It becomes mine and then I share it with as many as I can. Dancing is a different matter entirely. There is a dance that comes from the soul. No one can teach you this. It's spontaneous and a product of joy. However, joy can die. This is why I do all I can to maintain my inner peace because when storms blow, one of the earliest casualties is often...joy.
This is a wonderful read

Jacob,
I remember times at bars, pubs, and even restaurants when the rock-n-roll took over, became the air we breathed, commanded us to dance... or die. Times when sitting it out was not an option and we were completely alive...

This Woke generation need to wake up to that fact that life is just too short to discriminate about everyone and everything ,,,
I think our generation just said " live and let live" .... far and away the better way to be ...
I am in favor of love, Jacob, but I suppose even that should have a limit.
Are we all stepping on each other's toes? I think so.
Let's just be kind and decent.
That's what I try to do. If everyone did that, this country..this World, would have a lot less problems.

I hope so too Jacob.

If we danced more, talk more and laughed more. Maybe our world would be a better place? Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry. I did enjoy.

Well, you left the barn door wide open on this one. I'm more like a well rounded river stone watching the water dance around me. I am affected by the music of life but not carried away. Still, it has helped contour my jagged edges over time. I may not dance but I'll provide safety for the crayfish darting into my shadow. "I should have been a pair of ragged claws scuttling..."

Indeed, it would be nice if we could all dance to the same tune. Some, however, couldn't stand seeing others have that much fun.
