Frost is Shuddering over This

Frost is Shuddering over This

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Frost is Shuddering over This

the train's speeding past

a flying Amtrak

sparks ignite

along the path

as innocent trees watch in fear

their friends suddenly consumed

they whisper final prayers

even God is so puzzled by this

a cigarette tossed by a fleeing human

and more Armageddon

is inhaled

a country bleeds smoky truth

the throat of the future

hoarse as a preacher's voice

on a Sunday morning

when colds are circling

his church

train is long gone now,

the human sitting in front of his TV

yelling to his wife to fetch him another beer

as he drinks away any lingering thoughts

of the remorse,

he already tossed

into that wood.

Sparks are always flying where humanity gathers, and they gather to usually blame someone else for the mess they find themselves in.
I try of course not to do that myself. Rather, I read the facts, balance them and then blame the politicians. Well, they're never that far away from a lie, are they? 😊

Thought I saw a little Frost, but couldn't put my finger on it (I'm not very bright). However, this is a good piece, very J.

Oh my goodness, that was so compelling! The trees fearing. The careless guy tossing his cigarette and later watching tv and ordering his wife to bring him another beer.

You're welcome. Have a nice day.
Such a metaphor, sir, and, such horror however one interprets your words. Life and Man can made dangerous and disgusting bedfellows. Guidance not given, examples defunct

Yes mama did not raise us this way.

A cigarette tossed caused all that damage? Is that so? That is mind blowing. Lacking in education. I doubt if he knows who Frost is.

I doubt he asked whose wood these are. Wouldn't have given a damn anyway.
