A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

moving south

woods cannot escape

elemental borderline

flames scurry across

thank you for your kind review, Ken,
j.
You said a handful in the poetry Jacob. I saw the wildfires in Big Sur. It is a miracle. The green came back quickly. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome Jacob.
I like this write because it tells a story only those involved would know but it's the rest that don't know they will pay the price.
Thank you for sharing

Wild fires are such a shame.
They destroy everything in their path...
I suppose, just like some people..
Well said. Nicely done.

Thank you, D. it is pretty awful...

Fires don't respect border lines, that's for sure. They are like ravenous beasts, and they don't care whether the fuel is Canadian or American.

yes, they just don't care...thank you, John,

Definitely crossing borderlines south...we are getting it now down here in Texas. Smoke from the northern border and immigrants from the southern. Sad to say but, both are making it difficult to breathe freely.

Excellent work - really puts things in perspective these natural disasters - as if there weren't enough to deal with as it is.

this one got some help...
thank you, red,

Fire is a living thing ... it breathes ... it whispers ... it roars and it consumes.
Although this is a large fire and is producing a lot of smoke it is far from the deadliest fire in our country.

The Matheson fire of 1916 killed 223 while the Great Haileybury fire of 1922 killed 43. Both as a result of dry conditions and wind.

I like this one j. So few words tell a major story. Well done.

Timely, I have heard or the fires in Canada. A great Haiku with meaning and believe me I fear few things but fire is one that I make an exception for.
