the big hand is on infinity

the big hand is on infinity

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the big hand is on infinity

rewind the love clock

turn back memories counter-clockwise

at the beginning

we smiled,

time didn't matter

we held hours in our hearts

moments of expression

realization that love is a 24-hour thing

and the Energizer Eros

does wear out if not recharged

with a kiss, an "I love you"

a touch

rewind the love clock

and let me back into your arms

where I belong,

no matter what time it is.

What a beautiful thought, to rewind time before our mistakes set in stone and ruined everything we thought would be forever.
But would we learn from our mistake or set a pattern, like an eternal groundhog day restart point, pressing reset and have to start at the beginning again.
Not that I'm against restarting, especially when you think how young and firm and horny we were. 😊

you're right...we probably would not learn.

Wow... I liked that so much...

Indeed rewind the clock...

Like we only could...

Of course... we can fall in love all over again...

Over and over again...

;)

Great poem!!!

It's all true friend.

And you are most welcome!
Yes, depreciation affects everything in the physical universe, including romantic love. When the heart stops going aflutter at the sight of the beloved, it's time to check the batteries. If you don't, you might find yourself in the bar scene again.

appreciation becomes depreciation...happens.
thanks, John.
THIS poem expresses the longing to go back to the early stages of love and relive those moments. It emphasizes the importance of continuous effort and affection in a relationship, likening it to recharging a battery. The repetition of the phrase "rewind the love clock" symbolizes the desire to turn back time and be reunited with the loved one. The final lines express a deep yearning to be in their arms again, emphasizing that love should withstand any challenges or passing of time.

Tender. Thoughtful. Touching. Love seemingly causes time to stand still. Love transports lovers from time to the realm of infinity. Love is worth living for, fighting for. It's a great Energizer, of inspiration as well. Yeah, we should always rewind that clock. Y'know, the love clock.

What a wonderful metaphor here. Reminds me of the Cher song, "If I could turn back time". If only we could relive the bright spots. Problem is, we often remember only the good times even if there were bad times sprinkled in. Lydi**

yes, just the bright spots, and maybe some others now that we know better.
thank you, Lydi.
all so very real and true. In particular "does wear out if not recharged with a kiss, an "I love you" a touch" Even those energizer bunnys eventually run down regardless of what the commercials claim. thanks for the post -carl
