1968 to Fast Forward

1968 to Fast Forward

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

1968 to Fast Forward

enough said,

when the lights switch off

and love turns on

moonful arrow

shot through the blinds

slanting breezy night embrace

softly the skin glows

like a black light poster

in an old college dorm room

reefer scent still hiding in the shadows

maybe I am just remembering

maybe it is happening now

I wonder if it is really the same moon

as ago in time,

or perhaps just an errant switch.

Ah, college days. Those black light posters and the blue tone everything adopted. The moon was brighter and the stars twinkled more....I am sure of it. Great reminiscing here. Lydi**

Yes, I am sure of it, also, Lydi.
thank you for going back with me,

Believe me, its happening now in my mind, you have taken me there. In that dorm. in the shadows of a night in 1968.

"I wonder if it is really the same moon
as ago in time,
or perhaps just an errant switch."

Leaves me speechless. You're one mind blowing poet!

I enjoyed this poem! Thank you for sharing it.
Some interesting syntax that I find fascinating: the same moon as ago in time.

It is how I would say it if I spoke poetry as a second language.

A turn back in time. You would have been 18 . A very young man. The moon has stayed the same. No changes there. It still floods us with beautiful romantic silvered light. What has changed is the people we now are. We see things differently. The moon doesn’t. Really nice reflective thoughts marching into the now.
