The poem has the kind of definitive tone that can express the certainty of love when it arrives (thunder), in the dark and regardless of consequences, and the aftermath, in daylight, the morning after, where the sense of regret and reproach is felt as strongly.
The rouge cannot cover the bruises, the bleeding...
What shines in the dark can have such hurtful consequences sometimes.
Such a beautiful poem, dear Jacob.
It fills my heart with sadness.

Thank you for sharing such beautiful poetry, my friend.
Ah that fools gold. How we can be taken in by it so easily. The cheek of a damaged heart hides nothing. It is littered with teardrops. Beautiful poem dear J.
dear Jacob… most of us have damaged Hearts… however, our Heart 💜 keeps Beating… like Sheep bleating in Pastures Green along a Stream of weeping willows where Hearts can remember… softly, Pat
What one sees at night when the moon and shadows dance upon us it's the thunder and love that makes life worth living, but when daylight arrives, it can be a whole different story....love changes as life changes and we must learn to accept it....or not....no rouge can cover up any damage....
Best, B
