Honey in the Bell Jar

Honey in the Bell Jar

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Honey in the Bell Jar

love tastes a moment

high regard,

beauty in solemn passion

and then erosion

manipulating, rearranging, changing

the runway cleared

for the runaway to fly

the beautiful disregard

for self

deteriorates into bitter longing

raven embrace

the wing torn

grounded, buried

in tears shed red

with anger

the moment love is tasted

it turns sour

low regard

passion in solemn erosion

try to remember me as I once was

you might taste the memory

and it might be sweet.

Th memory might be sweet, but erosion of our bodies, our minds, takes over everything.....it's sour as we erode into nothingness....passion has slipped us by....everything is changing.....fleeing....but we can still remember how love tasted before....

This one was full of spectacular lines, from the first "love tastes a moment" to the last entire stanza
"try to remember me as I once was
you might taste the memory
and it might be sweet."
This was a really nice write Jacob.
