Rings

Rings

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Rings

as our lips met

your greeting was a trillion miles away

your eyes said nothing

the kiss

was some interplanetary imagining

then I landed back on earth

feeling I'd never left the ground

and Saturn had disappeared from the sky.

The impression is the lady is giving a message by doing nothing. Her mind is obviously somewhere else, possibly with someone else. Stay on earth; Saturn is nothing but gases, anyway.

There's nothing worse than being with someone and feeling all alone. A kiss that falls flat is just ... bad.

been there enough times and certainly agree with you, Linda,

You must remember this, a kiss is still a kiss when Saturn's in the sky. The weird poetic things of life...as time goes by. Some kisses send you soaring and some bring you back to earth long before you hoped to. Nice one my friend.

thank you, will,

They say the rings of Saturn are cosmic rock and dust. They always made me think of a lady's fancy hat sitting sideways on her head. Sounds like a hot flash in the happening here like maybe a meteor exploding in the sky. I enjoyed.

I know this sensation so well. Your exaggeration brings it to life oddly enough, makes it real. Curious.

Wow... when I had my surgery today...
it seemed as though I was lost in Space...
When I came back to reality, I felt as though
I had been to another Planet and was filled with energy.
Your poem reminds me of my out of body experience.
