A sickening fact but true. Some media outlets can’t wait to focus on the sordid and the negative. And sadly that seems to be what many people want to listen to. I just reach for the controller to switch off. So much said here dear J.

I switch to binging on one of my old series, thank you very much.

Fox or CNN, two sides of the same coin. I saw a CNN broadcast where they refuted eyewitness accounts and actual film footage with a supposed "expert" who was two thousand miles away when the event happened. I thought, wow, how is that even possible, to say something else happened when it's on film and you have recorded eyewitness accounts from your own camera crew? But that's exactly what they did. The "news" has seemingly become whatever spin your political leanings want to put on the story rather than actual events. I really miss Walter Cronkite telling us, "That's the way it is" and letting us form our own opinions about the story reported.

David Brinkley wrote a book i SO enjoyed, "Washington at War" about WWII and the response in DC. It's wonderful. If you haven't read it...you should. It shows (among other things) how delusional our leaders are and how crazy people are governing America. Sadly, it's still the same today. DC has always been completely out of touch with the average American citizen. Sometimes I feel like Roy Schneider in Jaws wanting to tell the politicians, "Why don't you come down here and shovel some of this s**t?" Other times, like the comment which followed, "I think we're going to need a bigger boat!"
Perhaps tonight they will just show a test card saying please standby, while we look down the sofa for any spare three quarters of a billion for our latest libel payout! 😊
It couldn't have happened to a... No, not nicer... A bigger monster! 😊
And now I am wondering what is for dessert. 😊
Sometimes, such criminal things happen in relationships, they become a spectacle too, fit to be covered by Fox News. The world thrives on voyeurism now. People are willing to lap up just anything, be it the most sordid ever to make their evenings more interesting.

seems to be the case now...yes...thank you, divya,

And isn't that the nature of modern news now? They salivate over all the gossip and controversial stuff instead of focusing on the truth of telling things of relevance as they need to be reported. Fox news is especially guilty of taking sides and not reporting objectively. Somehow I doubt your love stories were simple TV dinner standard, digested before a bowl of ice cream. Love that idea, though.
