it's their turn

 

 

 

recite the anthem

raise the correct flag

love your country

regardless of the second and third-

hand clothes that barely cover your back

 

patches of life

cover the assembly

of the fellowship

 

they all shop at Goodwill

but feel no good will at check out

and think of checking out

each day their account shrinks

 

we see goodbyes in their eyes

All men are created unequal

in the eyes of politicians

too busy gorging 

on fancy lunches

 

while the scraps

go to the fellowship

as if they are taking communion

 

in a church of shambles.

Powerful words. Upsets me too much. We do not value those who have served our country enough. We have veterans on the streets. Homeless and with mental trauma. They deserve so much more. Politicians are elected to serve the people, sadly there are too many who go into politics for the wrong reason. They are more interested in serving themselves. The rich get richer while the poor suffer most.

Give your all to your country so your country can give nothing back to you. This was powerful Jacob. Those at the top have never look down and never will. He gave his arms, his legs, his life for us, we will never forget ole whatshisname. Thank you Mom and Dad for your son or daughter, here's a folded flag for your trouble. And I'm surprised they even do that. (without checking their watches and bank accounts)

You are much more eloquently and beautifully stating, for the most important part, everything's all that I seek to get across to people with my Ugly-A*s Poetry ... Very poignant for those of us who do subsist on monthly SS incomes, alone ...

Regardless of that which folks wish to believe, there is big time politics involved in all Big Business: i.e.: Corporate Businesses & Large Corporate Entities ... Thus, The Elite of this world are, in all truths reality, Master Politicians ...
