I rarely do this J. but I soooo wanted it to be a mouse in that closet as you weaved in and out of the beastie matters of late and early words and dreams and aperture...line to line the woman into word from pen combined into a monster yes, but a mouse is the worst that hides in the closet and you hear its constant gnawing at the walls. Not a poet alive does not know of that beast. Love this one and Monster works as well, just me I suppose...lol. Appreciated!
You've given such a colorful twist to poetry. Poetry is crazy and a lot of creativity occurs with those philandering syllables and so much else under cover and we wouldn't even know. I loved it all.
Dreaming in rhymes, waking to dissolving thoughts, spending the day trying to remember. Then going to bed hoping to see it again. Seem repetitious to me. Nice one Jacob. Don't mind me, I got locked in the closet of wit one time too many.
both sun and darkness are mentioned here. Perhaps they both have a bearing on the outcome. Perhaps the best creativity comes at night and is lost to the morning sun. Or maybe the poet is still crazy searching, unsatisfied that he is achieving his golden.

Still crazy after all these years"...that is most likely true.

My wife will not, to this day, sleep in a room with the closet door open. She swears "something" was in there one time and she has since distrusted all closets. Me, when I do sleep, I have no fear of anything. I'm gone but I'm a very light sleeper. I like to write about my dreams sometimes, when I can remember them. I dream in full color. I've heard it said that's rare. But I can remember colors from my dreams. So I guess some people dream in black and white. Which, to me, would be strange. I mean, we live in color. I've heard magical music in my dreams that was so, so beautiful and I remind myself, in my sleep, to remember and imitate the tune when I wake up. But I never can.

Your deliverance is as indulging as ever, Jacob. "...the restless themes awaken to the sound of the alarm when philandering syllables go under cover." I have the vocalization of three cats wanting to be fed as my alarm. My best my friend.

"the bed too small to contain the body" How many times this is true. "words dreaming of slotting into drifting lines" yes again this becomes a search for the golden fleece. "and the dark side of poetry will threaten like a monster in the closet of wit" Well said Jacob.
