the act, then the epilogue

the act, then the epilogue

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the act, then the epilogue

your expression is off

something sinister in your eyes

you act normal

until your fantasies rage

and those in the way

find the demise

in your eyes

very real

even when it does not seem a part of you

faces in bars

become faces behind bars

you drank her in

then exposed her,

expunged her

went home to your wife

rested your head on her pillow

kissed her to sleep with your lips

while your hands were shaking

from where they had been.

Betrayal is the pits. To be on the receiving end, devastating. I wonder what guilt the perpetrator truly feels if any. First stanza builds a picture of the character. A little poem with a mighty lot to say. Cheating is unpleasant but it is also fairly common sadly.

yes, too common...thank you, Chris,
j.
Guilt ways heavy on the heart when cheating on a loved one.

I would hope so, Dale...I would hope so.
It is difficult to experience the Demise of our Country before our own eyes.
However, we have always been optimistic and wise beyond our years.
Perhaps we can be an example of working where needed and be rewarded.
This is our Prayer... Amen.. Pat

What goes around comes around. He is exposed, indicted and in a dilemma now. Called many times to lock her up without due process, and when he is called to be locked up, he calls for insurrection and mass protests. To some he is an angel(wolf in sheep's clothing if you want my opinion), to others he is a devil that screwed contractors, employees, students in his failed university, w****s and political opponents.
Not a fan of this one in office too to be fair. We need good, honest, moral and visionary leaders to lift up this country to greatness again.
No ego maniacs, please.
