tying the knots

tying the knots

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto
"

This one is for Chris S.

"

tying the knots

the marina is still tonight

a few ripples,

sides of boats banging softly against the docks

of eternity

there is rhythm to the peace

the aroma of plates filled with delicacies

because anything consumed rocking on the water

is gourmet

to those who love the sea

the salty smell of relaxation

the intensity of the sky

and what is free

the nights produce a display of stars

a gift of the moon

shadow dancing

with the planets

the marina is still tonight

the ripples cease

the boat rests

we endure restful sleep

like we are not used to

wishing we could sail into eternity

on this dream.

Me too Jacob. I need the sea.
"there is rhythm to the peace

is gourmet"
The above lines. I wish to know again. I need to hear the rhythm of the sea again. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome Jacob.

Oh what a beautiful picture you painted here, dear Jacob. This poem is truly different from all others of yours but equally beautiful. The Marina is so still and so dreamy only the shadows dance till eternity. Also, a big thanks to dear Chris for sharing the pictures that inspired these amazing words.

The words say that, indeed.
You're most welcome, dear Jacob.
Excellent Work Jacob - you reminded me of the idyllic French Harbours of my youthful voyages in Continental Europe ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

Not sure but I believe you have just described absolute serenity and peacefulness. This may just be the perfect evening in ink.

A writer is merely a conduit for inspiration to flow through. You may quote me. ;)
This is beautiful, Jacob. I can see the moon reflected in the water, the stars in the eyes of those who love the sea. This sails into the soul on waves as calm as breath.

those opening stanzas were just amazing......the ending was spot on....I believe that this certainly is one of your best works and that is saying a lot because you have such a rich and diverse catalogue. Masterfully done by the master himself!

Thank you Jacob.

Your lines here have created beautiful imagery and a sense of utter calm. That’s what I get from my time in the marina. I love your final line. Sailing into eternity on this dream. That would certainly be the way to go. This one is a treasure my friend.
