i have a couple pendleton "glacier" blankets my wife Jessie brought to our marriage. I love them .. your mention of the Pendleton brand taxed my memory to place just what it is that makes it so familiar to me .. be that as it may ..........enjoyed the setting, scene and action of your movie star, jacob .. metaphors, in my opinion, are especially brilliant .. love the word play in the 'yard" foliage captured .. such care given to frame her just so .. i really like the click of the moment already moving into the future .. so good!! and you sparked so much in that falling leaf behind her .. i feel the sadness as death overtakes the Fall .. super enjoyed .. thanks always for all you share here sir! i trust your still moving back to peak performance :) luv on ya brother

I want to dress up as a Rose and walk in the Park with rose petals falling as the Meadow Lark sings of romantic memories … your poetry is a fashionable Event in the Spring and Summer. gently, Pat
Who is this girl, is a queen or I haven't read right I do love a touch to your image but more than everything your words they keep me wondering of a write.
Thank you for sharing this because it keeps me thinking
Pin the bedsheet to the wall and plug in the slide projector in August to escape into that fall from years ago. What a nice presentation of an idea, Jacob.
Yes, beauty is a fragile thing, ever subject to time and biology. The lady of the poem may still have movie star looks, but the clock is ticking. In this Kodachrome moment, she is beautiful, but it is autumn, and the leaves are falling behind her.

and she has passed now, several years back...but once....
thank you, John,

Taking photos used to be an art and it was always a thrill to see how they turned out but anymore, click and delete seems to be the way. Photos were forever, if you dropped one in the toilet, you didn't lose the entire album. Your poem is a beautiful photograph of a moment in time my friend. Nicely done.

I remember those Kodachrome color photos and the song that goes with it...in a special Kodachrome one's life flashes by, stops for a moment, dashing beauty in the poet's mind....."another leaf floated to the ground behind her" ...that perfect photo will be a lasting memory.
Love this!
