A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

scripts and scriptures

proverbs in halcyon skies

we read the lettering

as if floats clumsily by

the Bible torn open at its rib

there are words

in the veins of existence

that hold a future

at bay, like Cain's love for Abel

or Adam's trust of Eve

but we do breathe

and walk slowly toward

some gate of imagination

hoping it is real.

Not one of us is without sin. As to the Bible, I can not seriously believe all that has been written. I am not even sure if there is a heaven, but in my heart I hope there is. I envy those who truly believe. That would make our losses far more bearable. I have a good imagination J.
