Daybreak

Daybreak

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Daybreak

my nights bleed into early mornings

trifles keep the beat

as the song of the Cardinals

greets

me

anemic posture

I am searching for scraps

from early a.m. hours

the music of the somnambulist

a bit off key with the sunrise

but the lyrics make the rising sun smile

as my eyes slowly close

in imperfect harmony.

Your words are so gentle, persuasive, the reader feels the daybreak seep into them....All the healing is felt in the Cardinals song and the sunrise. The sun gets stronger and so do you.

Night bleeds into day as the cardinals sing to you under the watchful eye of the rising sun. Rest my friend whenever you can. Take good care of yourself while your heart recovers.

Only You, Jacob🌤

Could express, with such metaphorically poetic clarity, the mental, emotional, and physical feelings and sensations pertaining to the unique state of recovery, emphasizing just why there's been such a lonely vacuum around here … the kind only You can fill with the perfect title, verse, and imagery.

Those scraps all build into a something, even if the bigger picture eludes us momentarily and imperfect harmonies still lull us into where we need to be.
You and your words have been missed.

i really like your poetic reply, Lorry,
thank you,

The imagery, I think, speaks of your ongoing recovery. Your posture may yet be anemic, but you are able to arise and hear those cardinals sing. Keep up the good work. Great to have you back.

There is worry but also so much joy in this. Joy of the natural world and the wonder of appreciating it. From a poets poet.
