the old credits roll

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

the old credits roll

i almost saw rita and lana

and the other starlets

posted in heaven's corridor

seven hours of flight

controversial landing

aborted

eyes opened

to tin pans

and bed pans

and tubes

staples

and a rain check

for the movie of all time

written by poets

with Beat scripts

free verse song

musicals with pin-up elegance

the real heaven

but theater was closed

and condemned

yet still had one unoccupied seat

and a reel

just spinning

into dust

Glad to see you back friend for a sequel of life or many sequels. This poem had an oh so real feel and was chilling knowing the circumstances. Am looking forward to many brighter ones in the future.

Those seven hours of flight, the plane took a roundabout turn, away from a destination of dreams...It's allure remains strong for the poet though....he seems almost regretful about it. I think that unoccupied seat can wait and wait and wait....

Thrilled to read you again!

Your work here is obviously unfinished Jacob, the Good Lord knowing that.
Plenty of time for death after your quill runs dry.
So good to see you back:))

thank you, Gee...appreciate you.
Almost saw Rita and Lana but you’ve gone through the tunnel now you are back in the stage light and so the final curtain waits for another time.

At home again huh? Well itchy well. As for the poem, Yep, I have the same issues with old equipment and lost parts as well!! Good to see ya back Professor!!

Sincerely hope all issues were resolved and this next year finds you kicking these poets' arses. Loosely stated of course. I"ll go back to wandering the dark alleys and writing with my teeth Jimi style. I suspect you'll be setting fire to this ole cafe fairly quickly. Lana Turner? Rita Hayworth? Saw them sipping weak martinis at another cafe. Had to cry a little bit~ ;) Welcome home J. ;)
