But it seems that they, those starlets of the silver screen, will have to wait to meet the famously entertaining poet Jacob Erin-Cilberto for a bit longer. Seems he left his ticket to the theater in his other suit. And that suit he doesn't plan on wearing for a good long time. Sorry Myrna, you're just going to have to wait. : )

I love Myrna Loy...especially in the Thin Man Series with William Powell. and of course, Asta.
Isn't it funny how life changes who we are? The world turns, things happen, and our perspective is completely flipped 360 degrees. Things written of today were never thought of before. This is life. I love the metaphor, and really loved the ending. Quite a visual!
I never cared for silent movies, anyway. Give me the talkies, the musicals, the Damn Yankees. Whatever Lola wants Losa gets. Glad she wanted you back at the Cafe, Jacob.
so happy you are back friend Jacob! posting a mile a minute it looks ;) what a ride ... we all take it at some point .. funny how some have the choice to remain or stay ... and some most assuredly put back here among the living .. those are some heavy hitters of the old screens and poetic line .. love the free verse your speaker experienced ... no restrictive forms ... they are gone .. but the reels keep turning eh!?

ps. sending you a RR ... please check it out my friend!

A promise, an unaccepted offer that will be renewed in the future but not just yet, still more writing to be birthed and scribed here on solid terra-firma, that awaiting, celestial, vacant seat shall remain unoccupied for now, though the glimpse of the inspiring thespians on view at the time is/was greatly appreciated!!
Terrific talismanic tidings Jacob, thrilled indeed you declined that paradisaical ticket to the great theatre and will be around here in the cafe for many more pleasant congenial exchanges!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... a little time of time off for leisurely R & R hasn't stained, nor tarnished, your brilliantly perceptive intellect even the tiniest, iota's inkling of a smidgen's, least ... I know you, secretly, always wanted to take an all expenses paid (or staid?) vacation, but, as one selfish Son of a B***h, I must say: I'm damn sure glad you missed the boat, and are still avidly, most fervently, beached & afloat ...
Let's save all that for the next remake of All That Jazz. We'd all like you to hang around here a bit and keep us significantly entertained. Where would we go for our metaphor without you? Rita and Lana do sound tempting though. But they can wait. They're probably still in their dressing rooms trying on wings anyway. I enjoyed your write, J. It's good to have you back among the living (and the brain-dead like myself). It's past time for morning coffee here.
