Plea

Plea

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

          Plea

existence is mere compliance

luck is the heart beating

in the proper direction

being massaged back to life

after the death of love

if we are absolved of breaking it

then sorrow can shock

the tender side

to explore new peripherals

new consequence

form tears

to travel cheeks

reminding us

compelling us

to do so much more than

just exist

There is that time after a breakup when you feel like a zombie. With luck and persistence life can be again found,

I agree, Winston...thank you for your insight,
j.
We live in transitional phases from being in love, to being hurt, and then recovery only to propel ourselves to try again until we get it right. Like living in an organised chaos of emotions we are so programmed to do so.

thank you for your words, andrew,

It is a shame they don't have defibrillators for hearts broken by losing love. I sense a thread through your pieces lately. If I am wrong then sorry but, hoping it all comes out good...enjoyed this Jacob.

Your poetry is proof that you do more than just exist my friend.

Existing is not living. We can recover after heart break if we want to. There will always be new opportunities for those who want to move on.
