luminary

luminary

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

luminary

the stars

a pattern of being

the north star a lost soul

blushing for others

to find their way

but lost in his

the sky is his imagination

an overwhelmed galaxy

of writing that blinks

like an idea so far away

it is light years

and dead on arrival

Hum, this causes great pause for me today. I read several times. I'd always imagined the north star as a beacon, a single bright light showing the way over the others. A guide. But I see this lost side, too. It makes sense. It truly is all a balance.
Beautiful j!

Some people forget their own troubles so that may help others with theirs. Your ideas for poetry will never be DOA. They are always fresh. Happy New Year. Lydi**

I thought this was a metaphor for a lighthouse, a beacon of light for guidance but looks dead when not in use.

Yes, I like that, andrew...
thank you,
j.
The North Star stands alone the brilliance easily recognized by all the other stars in the galaxy. This is exquisite J. So beautiful. The North Star is not one of the crowd.
