White Screams

White Screams

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

White Screams

abominable hours
a pack of dogs wailing
snow cascading in all directions
visibility into the future
nil

blizzard love buries
cities
in silent blur

bodies found
in ice caskets
unceremoniously dispatched

God must really be angry
I just hope
he feeds the starving canines
and gives them Holy Water
for sustenance

so the souls
may safely depart.

I have seen the images on tv of the awful weather conditions in the States. Snow can be so beautiful yet it can be devastatingly cruel. It has certainly caused mayhem. The deaths are increasing. A winter that will be remembered and for all the wrong reasons.

Yes,an incredible winter burst similar to one big avalanche engulfing parts of America with deathly consequences. Unimaginable really, beyond belief.

Sounds like what Alaske must be. When I watch nautres so I get sad watching the animals braving the bitter cold.

It reminds me of many winters I spent in my childhood and up until 30 years ago up north. That is why I moved south. It also speaks to the soul.

Yep. it just makes me cringe to think about the helpless dogs and cats who are left outside in weather like this. And no, I am not a Sarah McLaughlin fan. Very sad.
