one last drop of religion

one last drop of religion

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

one last drop of religion

sanctimonious state

where hapless fanatics

occupy pulpits

of lightning fast words

gimmicks

to pedal their wares

to those poor crippled sinners

who need no longer

                                  be broken

but instead

                                  broke

as the panhandler

on the corner

of God and wine.
