Dear Jacob, your "elevator" metaphor is a very amusing one; so are the falling and the dog - very interesting! But I'm confident we won't "fall off of heaven" - I've watched a number of videos on Youtube about death-bed or after-death experiences, about how people's consciousness rises from their physical bodies, following a friendly figure towards a bright light (as the "white light" you put it in your poem) when their hearts and brains stop working, and then they were rescued and came back to life again. I do believe in "energy transfer", that our consciousness is some kind of energy that would transcend the physical body and live on... There's a lot of video on Youtube about how quantum physics believes we are immortal.... : )
Well, no one can be sure about this, but this is something I believe in (or choose to believe...haha).
Wishing you a great Christmas and New Year "experience" - savour all the joy and love!
Warm wishes,
Louisa

I hope no elevators in heaven, some of my worse nightmares involve elevators. This isn't one - three teenage boys in a bedroom above mine with electric guitars playing the intro to Free Bird over and over again- I know what hell is going to be like. enjoyed your contemplation on what's next. -carl

I love that song, but not over and over and over,
thank you,

I like the mention of Wuthering Heights
here ..the ending could be the beginning of a new journey in the
great beyond..we shall eventually
find out..nicely done
I'm not sure one way or the other but I am curious to find out when the time comes. I like to think there is more to it than just this but you never know. And to me, hell would be having to watch Wuthering Heights over and over again.
Very cool my friend and once again, like always it seems, very thought provoking.
This is an interesting poem, Jacob. I find the ending a little amusing....
personally, I believe there is a Heaven.
I'm not sure if there is a Hell or not.
Maybe the only Hell that really exists is the Hell we make for ourselves in life.

That is cool. You are very welcome.
I actually enjoyed this a lot.
I wonder if The Big Guy is really swayed by all that penance ranting, or just bored. When you were a Catholic, did you ever hear snoring from the other side of the confessional?
