for Emily

for Emily

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

for Emily

a failing mist

closure of anonymity

poems found,

numbered,

untitled

1775 in attic uprising

we have found her

lying in apostrophe

and from that coffin perspective,

alerted to an

infamous point-of-view

It seems a sad affliction of societies to never value the most valuable until the creators are gone and their work rare by fact of circumstances.
Peers often neglect the genius of those in their own realm as well. The group think is almost always way off base.
Might want to look back at the past few years and see how the popularity of ideas can be misleading.
But I digress.
I would have thought we would find more than 1700+ writings from dear “Emily”. Hmmm?
You must have ten times as many.
All well worth my time to read and respond.

Thank you for your consistent activity and support to this community.

Reminiscent of her last words...
Her poems were published later.
Things beautiful will always be discovered, if not now then some time later.
Its just a matter of time.
"Attic uprising" - loved those words.
