There's such a similarity between her and Keats, don't you think? Both not being known or published until after their death. This is one of the best I've read about her. Brilliant offering, Jacob!

Lock the door to your family's home, write letters to the Judge, and to those wild nights...what use is the compass and chart to a ship in port. Emily...my greatest love, if only I could have walked with her in the Victorian shades of Mount Auburn when she visited Boston and came back with a poem or two. I think you almost have to be a recluse, need to find that proper room and whispering window and just write for the only critic that matters. Started this day off by sending a friend the 'Hope is the thing with feathers" poem...only proper that I should end it here. Emily is most definitely in the air, could be her recent birthday but such a wonderful tribute j~
It makes you wonder what they were thinking, what they expected (if anything) from their poetry. Did it matter to them if anyone read it or not. In my mind, she did it to preserve the beauty and timelessness of her era. Nice one Jacob.
"Because I could not stop for Death—
He kindly stopped for me—
The Carriage held but just Ourselves—
And Immortality."
Or your words become immortal. Which came first, the Words or the Worth?
Fascinating life to recap, Jacob. Thank you.

What a pity she never knew the impact her poems would have. Hidden away for all those years. Such a quiet, modest lady. Loved the world over by poets. I know how much you admire her work J.

Wouldn’t it be nice if she could smile at her success?
I am assuming this is Emily Dickinson. My Dear Friend Heather Grace Stewart in Montreal is a big Dickinson Fan. In England we have Emily Bronte of Wuthering Heights Renown ✨️✨️✨️✨️
