someday soon

someday soon

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

someday soon

hallways

the clicking sound

high heeled intention

dresses floating

rustling

impasse imposes

the balance is off

tripping on established norms

ice age implements

still exist

when they melt

the hallways will become

rivers of acknowledgment

currenting in the

right direction.

All things flow downhill.
I’ll be rowing against the current.

I love the POV of this piece. I feel like a fly on the wall. Great work.

thank you for your kind words, Salem,

The high heels gives me a clue that this is what yesteryear looked liked ; floating dresses and women who were always one step behind men in terms of their civil rights and their worth in the business world…that’s the impasse, I.e. the” ice age”; some day, hopefully there will be some sort of equality, some dignity to women “ in the right direction”
Great for discussion J.

Such a great poem focusing on the essence of past times that are gradually fading away.

We can always hope it seems and often what we hope for melts before our eyes. The hard part is learning to navigate those rivers when they flow by, Nice one Jacob.

A hallway back to nostalgic days where dancing was a way for girls and boys to meet and to show off your skills and attributes. Sadly it all sounds ancient now. A fine write J.

Well… I have worn enough high heels with good intentions with floating dresses and sweet carresses … the “clicking” in the Halls of Time. Now I wear “Wedgies” and eat a lot of Vegies. I find the most exquisite clothes at St. Vincent de Paul thrift store to make Life worthwhile. I smile at passerbyes and Cry tears of tenderness. Pat
