A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Arrangement

i am the sum of all my parts

the somnambulist of all my excursions

drifting in and out of the relationships

i dream

the lovers who walk along with me

our eyes closed

our hearts opened

memories made in pillow projection

concession to a labyrinth of tick-tock moments

before the waking

before the empty sounds

the other side of the bed collapses

into sunlight pouring in through

the shade of acceptance

solitude takes its own walks

when reason is wide awake.

I always thought I was at my best in bed and alone. Curse you daylight!

You got me....thanks, Winston,

On waking the reality of the empty side of the bed. The dreams may give a reprieve offering differing excursions. I would imagine some might be pleasant, others not so. At least with solitude you know where you stand J.

Funny, now I reach across, feel the empty sheet...and smile.
thanks, Chris,

Arrangements in dreams, the lovers love better with their eyes closed. The hearts seem better connected when reason sleeps. Waking to an empty life may feel so disappointing. We need more of such arrangements.

the other side of the bed collapses
into sunlight pouring in through
the shade of acceptance

...just amazing poetry!

thank you for your kind review, DIVYA,

I think the final two lines sums this up nicely and it is a feeling, a situation and a lifestyle I am far too familiar with. Nice one sir.
