Yes Jacob. I have writing for 53 years. I wonder if our words have any meaning?

I am listening to the talk of the four murdered college kids in Idaho. Make me want to go to my 180 acres of Ojibwa land in Upper Michigan. And seek peace. Room for you too Jacob. We must write my friend. Maybe someone is listening?

that is so scary...Was Thor executed?
We can often be our own harshest critics. Seeking a perfection that is unattainable can only lead to more frustration. May be one of the reasons so many poets kill themselves.
PS: Stay away from sharp objects. Gas ovens, too.

Interesting Free Verse piece that, no doubt, hits dead center for a notable percentage of poetry writers.
And yet, I suppose it broadly boils down to whatever satisfies a writer's needs, level of quality, ambience, topic, and variety, either overall, or in my case, at any inspired thought out or spontaneous moment.
And, it might make its appearance by virtue of something as simple as a Haiku or Senryu, a short or extended Free Verse piece, or a complex Blank Verse composition, a typical Sonnet, Villanelle, Rondeau, or a suite of Quatrains in Ballad format … perhaps, a challenging Terza Rima?
A few thing's are for certain: with a universe of endless feelings, thoughts, emotions, sensations, occurrences, human, animal, Nature, and else wise -- combined with literally hundreds of poetic formats to express it all through, a poetess or poet can never run out of fuel or sources for poetic creation, imagination, or variety … one is limited only by their extent of skill, ability, desire, passion, willingness, and/or physical capability, etc.
Still, the perceptions and discernments contained herein, within the essence of your words, are as valid a reason for poetic stumbling or dissatisfaction, as many others of the same and similar vein that you've so distinctly expounded upon … love your title, too; it instantly caught my interest.
To me, one of the most amazing aspects of how intricately and varied your mind works (as reflected ever-so concisely throughout your writings and how you convey so very much; always, relevantly impacting and consequential) is how you cover such a vast array of scenarios across your many compositions.
Over the years, many have expressed this to me, in one way or another; so, I'm not the only one who perceives it.
Anyway, my astute and ultra-talented friend, I always enjoy my visits to your pages, always taking away something with true essence with me.
Please, excuse the extent of this … it's evidence that I don't review often.
Thanks, Jacob, for another truly excellent poetic moment shared. ⁓ Richard🖌
I wonder if sometimes there's a lot of pressure put on writers to constantly be a factory of fine writing, so much so that when we're just not feeling it we try too hard to force it rather than walk away and wait for the next muse to tap us on the shoulder.
Indeed, I am sure many feel this same way, myself included. Though this can be taken in different ways. Maybe the ink isn't flowing as easily as it once was (that happens), maybe the muse has taken an extended leave of absence (that happens too) or maybe you pour your heart out in words and no one cares (that happens for sure). Either way, this one gets a gold star for it is absolute truth...at least in this world.
There is a real feeling here of not being satisfied and even critical of the words on the page.A reluctance to press the save button. Sounds like there have been many deletions. Is a poet ever satisfied with their own work? That is something to ponder on J.
