Stitch

Stitch

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Stitch

those remaining quilts

still cover me, although tattered

and worn

like my sorrow

at not being able to hear your laugh

help you with your crossword

share stories with you and vice-versa

those remaining quilts

still warm my heart

if not all of my body, these days

everyday use uses up my memories

but not so much they don't keep me comforted

the designs are a bit faded

but watching you stitch them?

that is a photo

still very clear in my repertoire

of book marked days

shared with you.
