A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

inevitably
help me into my wax slacks
form that figure
as heaven's museum
welcomes my likeness
even if my soul
ends up in some abandoned warehouse
a few blocks away.

Excellent and wistful meditation on mortality / immortality - questions we have all asked ourselves at some point✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

thank you, red,

....this felt so sad and so deep...
The poet is looking to a welcome in the heavens (for his likeness).
Yet he anticipates his true soul ending up in some abandoned warehouse a few blocks away.
To me, it feels, perhaps, like his poetry and his personal effects perhaps.
I weep for the poet and for myself and for all of us.
This poem will stay with me.

I appreciate your words, DIVYA,
j.
While we breathe and sigh… we blossom like flowers in a Storm. When drug traffickers kill our Children… we are in disbelief … forever we Weep. Sadly, Pat
