Gun

Gun

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Gun

i saw the powder burns on your heart

and the residue on your fingers

as they clutched the last of your sanity

Powder burns on the heart must be such agony...strangely, never felt this level of pain and insanity and this is perhaps the reason I cannot write of love with much depth...
I loved this intense poem, dear Jacob...

Have a wonderful day, dear friend!
Ah, another suicide…
Will we blame the gun or seek to comfort those in pain before the triggers are pulled?

Powerful verse.

Scott.

Powder burns on the heart are truly deep and sometimes such a wound drives the mind insane. A love burned has lead many to take up the gun....or other such dangerous devices. It damn hurts to lose in love, so I can hardly blame one for feeling insane. Felt this myself on occasion but I am more the water pistol kind. Very original metaphor and poem, Jacob. ❤

Water pistols will just wake us up to what we are doing..and maybe spray some sense into us.

I thought I was watching a Clint Eastwood movie, but then, it was better; the confirmation of gun rights in love. Wow!

Hahaha! You are welcome 😊..
Funny, the theme song from Peter Gunn started playing in my head when I click into here. (How many on here will even know what that is?) Sanity is a tough cookie when love and the heart are involved. Are any of us truly sane when we encounter that or...lose that. We can really do some stupid things going in and coming out. Here's hoping this was only target practice.
