Time Drains from the Wound

Time Drains from the Wound

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Time Drains from the Wound

it's already cold inside

the chamber

the shaft

the trigger

the mine

the mind

hardly breathing

hardly worth the effort

winter will find us

and we will embrace it

the chill

the locked door

obsession

deep in the abyss

no gold

just heartbreak

and one last twitch

of the finger

catch me

I’m falling.

It is Winter in Michigan my friend. I hear Costa Rica calling me. When the chill of Winter comes to us. We already miss the days of Summer. Thank you Jacob for sharing the outstanding poetry.

You are welcome Jacob.
I pray our wound do heal, because they will pull the trigger on us if not.

Felt it brother,

Such bleakness here, my friend.
Your words somehow make me think beyond the heartbreak in love.
I think of loss of light, of thoughts and words reading this.
I truly hope and pray, time never drains me of these.
