this day, that dayA Poem by jacob erin-cilbertothis day, that day
i'm composed of weather, stormy skies silver birds flying high
above NY streets boulevards congested with burning graves open windows and seared corpses parachuting in skeleton garb
the ground awaits their arrival the engines drowned out the screams a collapsing economy in duplicate symbols of capitalistic democracy
ash and rubble in the name of God offices full of innocents scream from behind their desks which obliterate into torched silence
a Pentagon greeting at the door an unwelcome guest breath full of fire rude demolitionists a perplexing unity of distorted proportions
hijacked hijackers hit the ground target avoided as brave soldiers in street clothes steer the chaos into infinity's wake
while we continue to sleep with disturbed memories that still try to understand why those beautiful blue skies
were marred with errant and sudden reign.
