A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Learning Curb

current feeds current

the bombings sound softly

receding

People still die

a country on the verge of extinction

but old news is no news

current feeds current

"the times they are a changin'"

News has such a short attention span

saturation of the latest

little speak of the late stories

now as dead,

as the people they were about.

current feeds current

Thought of the media and how quiet it has gone on the matter of Ukraine where people still die daily and a war continues.

A new story begins, it's the same old, same old. Soon that will be old news and the cycle will start again. The media decide what is relevant, what sells....

it is such a shame...the story that gets the biggest ratings is the one that floods the media.

You really do have to sift through the daily river of bs to find out whats real. Don't be swayed by the mob. I like it.

Yes, the mob mentality is catching...for sure...
thank you, duff,
j.
current feeds current (the cycle begins)
the bombings sound softly (the truth speaks)
receding (history repeats itself)
People still die (it is part of the process)
a country on the verge of extinction (dinosaurs we are)
but old news is no news (just recycled with a different bow but same material?)

current feeds current (the need to gnaw on the familiar)
"the times they are a changin'" (the only thing constant is change)

News has such a short attention span (like that of a gnat)
saturation of the latest
little speak of the late stories
now as dead,
as the people they were about.( the truth)

thank you for your insights, Jerome,
j.
I know the history of older people is to complain about the way things are and how it was better back then, but there is also such a thing as truth, and the truth is generations were reared without any understanding of delayed gratification. And then we were taught that "He who dies with the most toys wins", and that unbridled, unregulated capitalism was the invisible hand of the god of gettin' it done.

I find all this in your words, Jacob, and I am grateful to see it pointed out.

I really appreciate your review, Winston...Unbridled greed...that is what it is.
