Well worded, well said, lots of visuals scattered around the room. But what about the coffee? How bitter without the sugar and such a mess without the napkin. :)
there was no "dippy" in those dippy eggs she made you, just rubbery and cold.... I feel a bitter sadness in this poem Jacob..... bitter in the way she left (a poem with no name); but I sense a sadness in the "alone" the eggs may have been done better, but no more conversations, not even a fight, just gone and now alone.... I think it was Albert King who sang about the "reds" contained in the "blues"....
anyway, sometimes well cooked eggs is worth the price of "sitting alone".... nicely penned Jacob!!
Bittersweet I say to making your own eggs. Unrequited love is so hard to bear at first. I sense the other party is not giving an inch nor being hospitable. So sad but, I get the impression the protagonist is slowly finding his path. Thanks for sharing. Temp
I never cared for dining alone. If I must, I'll eat in front of the T.V. My cat used to sit beside me on the couch and hope for scraps. It was a crazy Siamese that always preferred human food to his cat chow.

Siamese are like that...very different, they do think they are humans.
Deviled eggs are best eaten with Tabasco sauce...
It may have a way of giving you a Boost...
Nice to have a Roost to Recover from the Blues.

Yes it’s nice to be alone if you try to work it out and it’s not a perfect match just cracking two eggs and toasting two breads and washing up for one is nice
Been there too
Wow. Is there a class I can take to think like you write? The eggs got me, but the kitchen full of blues definitely gets an honorable mention for metaphors ever written! My best, always.
It is difficult when two people become too different to live in the same house Jacob.
"when it means being without you
and blues turn red with envy
and bitter tones
because I'd rather make my own eggs"
I do understand the above lines my friend. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry an your thoughts.
