Obituary of an Oxymoron

Obituary of an Oxymoron

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Obituary of an Oxymoron

i am left disoriented

by your whispered kisses

in the ear of my catastrophic

language

as i free write my will

in poetic stanzas

i will die confusedly certain

that i loved violently tender

and rendered my heart

to a long-ago girl

as my knees melted into syrup

from the brush of her lips

i still haven't found my way all these years later

just write long and then longer lines

of poetic compass

trying to find my way

away from you

finally

i get tired

of having no direction

except toward your memory.

Our poetic compass long lines
or no; can still lead us in the
wrong direction of forget- me-nots-

great poem
..

The beauty of love can never fade away, but thaey make a fine masterpiece in the museum called our heart.

thank you for that wonderful comment, Dale,
j.
Wonderfully metaphoric, J. I also found the continuity among "longer lines, compass, to find, a treat", clever but not too clever. Just right.
