The poet's poet... strikes again. Reviewing is that line many live or die on. Having been here for so long, I most certainly agree that there are far too many "untouched gems".

thank you, Travis...you are definitely one of the "givers" on this site.

I don't know why those who read poems don't leave reviews. It puzzles me. Maybe they lack confidence and feel that their contribution is of little value in comparison to what other reviewers leave. Maybe they are concerned that their thoughts aren't what the poet meant. I wish people understood that poetry is subjective and it is perfectly acceptable to say anything. It is so sad that many make the effort to write and do not get responses. If you leave lots of reviews yourself, you are far more likely to get reviews on your own work, that I know fir sure. We'll done Jacob. It had to be said and you do it admirably.

Good morning dear Jacob,
How dare anyone not review after reading!!!!
I know my words are harsh, but that is after reading Carlos review I see he feels the exact same way.
I so agree with him..."messages silenced"..rather upsetting.
I often wonder why some of my poems get loads of reviews while others do not. Is it where the poem in my list of poems or perhaps the title I chose? or more likely the fact that many people are just too lazy...
Your wonderful poem as many of your others always inspired me.

in verse. There are some really good poets on this site and poets who have great potential who post and get no reviews or just a few at most. And that to me is a shame.
thank you for your words, Lisa.
I figured I would just get ripped for posting this, but I just had to write it.

I so admired the composition of this piece so artfully created, and yet felt a sadness from what I took away from this work. All the unread or not commented writings that people worked hard giving life to. Their messages silenced in a way or not finding a place in someone's heart. But the mind continues to press forward because in breathing life from our creativity brings us closer to knowing ourselves. A catharsis to heal a wounded heart or mind. A very deep and thought provoking piece, J. I have found reading your work as well as others in the community has made me improve my discipline as well as liberate my thoughts. I'm a better writer because of you and my fellow creatives that inspire me with their art. Thank you for allowing me to learn how to focus on an ability I took for granted for most of my life. I'm forever grateful my friend.

Yes, we do.
thank you for your response to this, Carlos,

I have always lacked confidence in my life when it came to displaying whatever creative aspects I may have. This community not only shows me the tremendous value in all art, but also the need for every voice to be heard. Even of those who I may disagree with on certain social issues. I still love the art. Because I learn perspective and another point of view. That each human life lives different, yet dreams the same. As well as hopes. I pay the gifts forward that this community gave to me and my art. Because all it took was one word of encouragement here that allowed me to fly and share my voice. In my heart I want everyone to have that opportunity. Thank you again J for helping me get better by the words and art you create.
