Unfortunately that seems to be the case on this site. Many amazing poets, story writers, novelists post their work on writers Cafe but may either not get views, or views but not much reviews which is sad. I, as a person love to share my work with others and I enjoy receiving the feedback so I understand how it would feel to not get reviews when you had views. It's a kind of sinking feeling. You write truthfully here Jacob and hopefully new writers on the site get recognized.
We do land in a lonely place Jacob.
"into silence smote
from what they wrote
only in a mind
twisted to find itself"
The above lines. Honest words and thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

Hello, Jacob! :)
This reads like a spell to summon up reviews.
I read lots of poems here, but leave few comments, and here I am, frantically typing this comment, compelled by the magic of your word choices and thought patterns. Thanks for sharing!

I get my share of reviews and can't complain....but when I go down the board and open up poems to view...so many here get little or no attention....and they are writing some really worthwhile stuff...it just aggravates me because the purpose of the site is to give some kind of feedback.
some really good poets get left alone....and sometimes with no views, even.
thanks again for the visit....

Ha! I love this! Finally someone went there and so glad it was you with your creative and sensitive way.
I don’t know why reviews don’t equal views which is sad because that’s why we are here. Constructive criticism is helpful for any writer new or experienced. Not every poem is going to be liked by everyone but still should get respect for an art that we are all are a part of. Trolling is unacceptable. Maybe the piece is not understood but still one should say so and maybe others can help with interpretation. Maybe some are just musing and some just don’t want to and then there may be those that are not even members so they can’t and don’t want to be members. But for those who are…yes we should, out of respect. Just my opinion.

yes, the poems need respect...they need it.
thank you, Patricia,

If we post a poem and no one reviews it, is it a poem at all? I often wonder why there are so many views and so few reviews. I enjoyed the rhyming and the staccato lines in this one. Great choice of words! Lydi**

maybe, if the poem falls in the woods...
thank you, Lydi,

I touched this gem
with my twisted mind and open heart.
in the silence of compassion,
words of understanding;
"What matters not the views
only the friendly reviews,
revealing we are in this together
We are all the same.
We are, ongoing gems
un-uttered, yet
but already with care touched"

I'm leaving You a comment now, this will add two views, the thing is more complicated. So, it's not a so desperate situation with the "views and reviews" :>

my poem is not a complaint for me...I get enough reviews, more than that....but too many poets on here end up getting discouraged and thinking their work isn't worth the comments of others...
that is what saddens me.
