A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

from the apartment

a dim light
exudes its improper essence

the man inside
old and wandering within himself

guilty of aspersions
transgressions

the gun resides
on an adjacent shelf

proper judgment
he was far from right

no penance
could suffice

coercion
of conscience

his fingers tap dance
closer to the trigger

the light
extinguished

a dark sleep
ensues

Suicide. Once I danced with her. Saved by dear Grandma and a friend. I believe, suicide can be easy. I want to read Wendy O. Williams letters. She wrote before she blow her off with a rifle. Your words honest, gentle and powerful Jacob. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I agree Jacob and you are welcome.
Dark thoughts here. I find myself saying don't do it. Suicides leave great pain in their wake. I don't think he listened. He might be out of his agony, others might just be starting theirs.
