still bound to a dream

still bound to a dream

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

.

still bound to a dream
resting my head on the old book
osmosis
prints the story in my head
pages turn between my ears
I hear you leaving over and over again
your screams insist
a fateful May
the theme erased a character
the author is still crying
but his tears cannot douse the fire
of remembrance
and your picture rests on the back cover
face up
as he continues to type the sequel
in between tears.

Highly creative and emotionally charged lines. i like the title. Dramatic stuff leading the reader through. Great work.

I love the idea of osmosis printing the story in your head. Beautiful image. Heart wrenching yet lovely to read.

Those pages get more
difficult to turn when
one leaves ..when
your still bound to a dream
a poignant piece so deeply

Ah yes ... the writer has resources that nomies do not have; the ability to envision a different outcome but then the normies are more likely to just get over the damn thing.

Loved this write; I haven't been around much but I have come back to let you know ... you still got it.

Truly inspiring; this is a poem certainly to come back to, just to experience its journey afresh and more so to peel its layers at other meetings. Thank you for sharing.

Dreams can be broken but for now you’re living the dream which is better than living the lie. The passage of time softens all pain concerning the heart. Excellently written.

Some loves linger. They can't help but reappear when you least expect it. The dust of memories. They take time to settle again. May must have been a bad month.

There are breakups and then there are breakups. Some are given short shrift, while others linger in our minds, creating sentences that begin with "If only." This offering seems to belong to the latter category. We get over them or we don't. The choice is ours.

A heart is suffering... and though you cry while you write, you cannot but be pained by what happened in May... You still have memories and the reminder of the picture on the back cover. " pages turn between my tears"....but the sequel will be written...
very sad but great writing...
