A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

mistakes

in hindsight

there is foresight

of the matters

that shatter

the future of a

present

that will have its way

with insight displayed

as being absent

If only hindsight was put to good use. But it never really is. Every cancer is unique. It comes with its own customized treatment and of course hindsight (too late as usual). So brilliantly worded!

thank you, Andrew,

It’s sort of like a twisted prophecy to know now what we didn’t then or we don’t want to know. A clever write.

In other words, "If I'd only known then what I know now." Yes, hind sight is 20/20, which is especially true in regard to matters of the heart, probably what inspired this offering.

people mostly don't learn from past mistakes, because making decisions about what's happening, are usually made in the moment, without time for personal history reflection.
look at politicians with all their resources of people researching matters for them, they still stuff up.
only on occasions when circumstances are exactly the same will people make better decisions.

I love it Jacob. Your messages hit the nail on the head to hold in place the truth. I had my share like all humans with mistakes. Live and learn. If not, burn.
You are awesome in your talents.

You are welcome sir.
Sometimes when we fall it's hard for us to see beyond the trouble we are in, the trick is to not react and try to be an outsider looking at the problem, yet of course this doesn't apply to all situations and all times.

I for one have been felling this lately that I may still have not learned from my mistakes, so this is absurdly relieving to know that I am not alone. Nicely written, J. You take the simple feelings and pen them down so beautifully that its almost as if one was catching oneself.

We ride the waves and sometimes find that we missed the important one. --- This poem was interesting in its structure, and I liked its quickness.

Hello, Jacob! :)
This was a fun read with wild phrasing that sort bounced around in my head and formed a straight thought. Haha. Thanks for sharing.
