tangled line

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

tangled line

waiting for grief to abate

is like waiting for a scavenger fish

to take a bait

and swim away with our sorrow

so that we may be left alone

to tread the water of our tears...

tangled in grief stricken
waters ..we get hooked
into sorrows of the reel.
kind; always that sentimental
feeling just below the surface..

Nice work Jacob

If only a fish could swim away with sorrow. I don't think sorrow or grief every truly leave us. They are part of us. They teach us a lot. Grief morphs through the years. Perhaps the scavenger fish takes a part of it. Powerful write, Jacob. Lydi**

yes, once we swim in grief...the fins keep working the rest of our lives...so true.

How desperate we feel to get rid of our grief! I wish there really was a scavenger fish capable of doing it, but we must feel everything and come up stronger, better. Lovely write.

Such insight...thank you, Fairy,

Too many times I think we reel that sucker in bringing the grief back. May all our tears be only those of joy, fond remembrance or tender sentimentality. I enjoyed.

thank you for your kind words, Fabian,

Oh J, this is so impactful and so relatable. You just want the pain of grief over and done with but it just doesn't work like that. Great piece of brevity.

Know this feeling oh so well. Methinks more scavenger fish are needed so that the bait taken much quicker and the healing process then sped up
