a Model's Arrangement

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

a Model's Arrangement

frigid masterpiece

of her once smile

turned down like the watercolor tears

that found a home on her blushing cheek

the paint cracking from the cold of her heart

I stare at her likeness

the brush lies inert

feelings frozen to the bristles

of the once smile

she posed for me.

"the paint cracking from the cold of her heart'"

I see you looking at the photograph.
The temperature in the room has dropped. Superbly conveyed dear J.

I wonder if Da Vinci felt this way about Lisa del Giocondo after he painted her. She doesn't seem so frigid though, smiling her little sideways glance. This was an interesting read. I enjoyed.
