A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Grade

the barkeep

eradicates my pain

ice melts into wistful lies

she said her goodbyes

over a cocktail

and my heart ails

and yearns

lives and learns

still beats with each sip

of an education

I cannot skip

as I earn my degree to

understanding life

awards no diploma

just a few poems

to save, like notes

from a class

on

drinking away the tempests

that occur,

when love is the teacher.

Love itself has a lot to learn, love doesn't work well when one is alone.
This is really good, much enjoyed this
