Change

Change

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Change

options in the street

windfall avenue

picks up the slack

in his backpack

as his silent dog walks beside him

his sign pleads for help

his eyes no longer anticipate

an offering,

surprised by the car stopping

he puts on the brakes

of his frown

and withering, almost falling down

he smiles at the quarters flashed

pockets his pride

prays for his options

to change.

My grandfather taught me to help the people in need Jacob.
"prays for his options
to change"
I loved the complete poem. If the all of us gave away something in the name of kindness. The world would be a better place. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts,
Coyote
