Sheet Music

Sheet Music

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Sheet Music
singing fathers,
drown out children
with little or no voice
cringing in the corner of the orchestra pit
at the feet of parents
cowering
the drunk actors on stage
dialogue of cursing, spitting
the curtain falls
those small fry
caught in a net of astonishment
"Are we not supposed to be loved?"
Big fish, scaly cats
ripping skin
hearts belched out with a groan
the song is a vomitous rage
Child services is the choir
singing acappela
pleading stars remorse in the play
booed into prison
a marginal review
they are all fired
the musical scratched
those children find enough voice
to laugh
and laugh...

“Pleading Stars remorse in the play”…, there is so much Insanity.. orchestrated .. by inviting everyone to come through our borders… then taken to different States … using our Tax money… still streaming in… a Nightmare,,. Prophesy unfolding .. the Children are our Treasure… We Cling to the Rock of Ages.., gently, Pat

Yes.. children will laugh as the Choir sings “It came upon a Midnight Clear … “… And we also should lift our Voices to hope for a Savior to Save our World… in turmoil… to breathe fresh Air and once again Rejoice and Believe… Amen. Pat

the gift would be to not have to deal with what some kids must deal with...

I enjoyed this. I enjoyed the placements and position each social role was given and their place in the production. Beautifully written.
