Everything here is written so amazingly, from the beginning to the end. Visually, it really takes you away and the words project so much images and story. It’s beautiful and nostalgic and I think, personally, one of you bests. I love this sort of style, it’s so deep and profound and intense and yet, all the right people get it. Thank you, so, so much for sharing!
I was friends with my best friend for 25 years, he died three years and honestly Jacob, I am lost without him...so important are friendships and the happy times that arise from them...beautiful poem, just so beautiful :)

I am so sorry, Ruth...I wish you still had him with you.

Coming from a family of Truckers, long past, I was able to see everything you so visually spoke of. Written in that "Matter-ah-fact" casual style made the read even more special. Thanks for sharing your moments.
This is the kind of writing I love. Deep and metaphorically methodical.
The rhythm of words slides off the tongue with ease, and I, a reader, am invested, feeling and engaged. Thank you for this.
"our conversations leave tire tracks on a key board road" a brilliant line in a poem that made me nod my head more than once. Time moves on and old friendships sometimes get misplaced, but a chance meeting can bring it all back again. The moon knows all and sees all. This brought to mind the Dan Fogelberg song, "Another Auld Lang Syne." Some things never change, Jacob. The moon knows that. Lydi***
Such emotions there... years passed, years linger in the memories, sweet innocent happy memories, to me the way You ended it was the most magnificent. I see a lost friendship but yet an ongoing one, like a change from state to another through this relationship, I don't know how to express it but this what You gave me in your lines. and to me this is all about the only and one friend You've been with since ever... your pen.

terrific writing here! Love the line with the cigarette, brilliant, and the old A&P, and can see everything so clearly in this write like I am there. Oh those yesteryears and old friends make one feel younger.

Yes, indeed I do remember, woe my age is showing LOL and I appreciate your friendship!
Friendship is precious. Old friends are gold. I enjoyed this nostalgic flashback into the past. The glowing cigarettes reminded me of a past boyfriend, walking to meet me down a dark country lane. That was all I could see of him as he approached me. You created the ambience here. I enjoyed the trip J. Lovely write.
I am glad it was always your boyfriend walking down that country lane...in the dark.
