Surgical Keys

Surgical Keys

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Surgical Keys

the real and
the surreal
banter boxing
knockout punching
aliases

ailing writer
in contagious state
of debriefing
denuding
prosperous spontaneity

ruptures the recipient
who exits premises
in dark despair
mundane voices
echo in deranged drips

a lyrical leak
a tainted lullaby
a sordid, sad goodbye
an expendable subject
to harsh verbs

the sentence a plethora
of painfully palpable
protrusion
the synchronized sutures
operate at once

we've lost another
on the table
of disrespect.

"we've lost another
on the table
of disrespect."
I am so sad for this victim, and any other victims here. Jacob, your poem cuts the culpable pseudo-surgeons with surgical, alliterative and metaphoric precision. Sadder when the end is brought about by "friends", or instead, detestable, disgraceful trolls disguised as humans. Thank you for this perfect, poetic, post-op analysis. Better than "CSI WC"!..To all involved I can only say- Be Kind. Be Compassionate. Practice Caritas here and everywhere, because you will need it yourself someday.

Yes, I wish all would listen to you, my friend.
Thank you for your words,
j.
I liked the hardness and the direction of the words Jacob.
"the sentence a plethora

The above lines stood out to me. The use of the language. Amazing. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

:) you're welcome, jacob.
There seems to be an amazing amount of alliteration popping up here j. This I think will take more than one read to glean the meaning I will gladly search for. Thanks for giving me something useful to do in the surreal times.

Take care

Surgical, precision extraction. Sharp, but in this particular case painful and messy. There's alot of bleeding. The wound is deep. Excellent poem J.

Abstract and surreal aren’t always pleasant and be so obscure they paint scary scenes
