Is there anything so sad as a poet in a roomful of non-readers. I know comprehension is not an attribute that everyone possesses, so maybe poets are possessed ... maybe the Muse is a sad little ghost drifting near the ceiling wondering if her efforts are in vain.
I think poets are like honeybees and thrive on the collective mind ... or maybe we're just aliens ... more like Alf than the monster Sigourney had to take down.
Whatever the reason, I 'get' poetry and maybe poetry 'gets' me.
I see a bit of poetic introspection lately ... good to get it all out before your poetic license is revoked.

She was protective of her brood, that is for sure.

This is touching & so true. It takes a poet to really get a poet. You've expressed all the ways such serendipity feels so satisfying. I appreciate the masses for reading me, despite not understanding a big portion of what I'm about, but nothing feels as good as knowing the other person really gets it (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Dagnabbit! I've been writing for 26 years trying to find the perfect way of saying what you just expressed so effortlessly. Is it funny or ironic that the "No words need be expressed, even when they are" line is the one I've been searching for half my life? 😊

I believe you are right and sadly there are not enough poets, how different might the world be? Even at our beginnings we reach out and connect our senses and essence. What a wonderful piece of poetry j.

I think I loved this one the most, Jacob! I have to say, out of all the wonderful poems you write, this one has to be one of your best. Poets are nothing without other poets, we need each other. :)
So true, how words and emotions can touch each other's lives. Even without so much of words our subconscious can relate to another. So very poetic living....
Width of meaning ,
length of suffering ,
mingling heartbeat ,
Takes me to the time when I wrote 'Alone' 'Name-A rough sketch' 'Why should I'
Emotions are spilling off this poem... And I loved this. We are the dimensions of each others subconscious...
Is also great and my fav line....
Lots of love .
