from her cheek to mine

from her cheek to mine

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

from her cheek to mine

bitter blue skies

i am a cumulus

lover

accumulating rain

in a heart

deprived of shelter

ravaged by the storms

of discontent

forever changed

weathering life

summarily sutured

as if the

surgery were a teardrop

that fell from her cloud.

dearest Jacob... I know the feeling you have painted in my repertoire of aches and pains... thankful for this time on Earth... although we cannot linger forever... we can appreciate the kindness given to become a forever Fan of Grace unbridled.... Young Eagles will raise their fledglings to be poetic when Life is difficult to Navigate. gently, Pat

Dear Jacob… your Poem reminds me of the Movie Wuthering Heights…. . Life can be tragic at times. Some people are like Flowers that have Romantic Perennial Tendencies. My Life has been like Wild flowers but I keep cultivating the Vintage Roses. Prayers and Blessings should be the Botanical Names of many flowers. Heather and Heaven on Earth. tenderly, Pat

I loved how you used the words Jacob.
"accumulating rain
in a heart
deprived of shelter
ravaged by the storms
of discontent"
I did like the above lines. You said everything needed. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You are welcome Jacob.
I have hope for the future. love is like an integer, excluding itself, it is always equal to itself. It is never larger, nor more pure, than the soul that pitches it's doctrine. Great title for a troubled land.....dana

Don't you just hate when a reviewer grabs the reserve parachute and just tells you that this is just so good on so many different levels that it makes me dizzy trying to even count the amount of aforementioned levels, so I best stop and have a lie down? I mean, okay you might appreciate the sentiment and all, but at the same time smile wryly, or wry smiley and think saying "this is a poem!" would have been as equally observant 😊

I pictured a naked heart trying to stand on its "feet" through a hurricane. We are forever changed after going through every experience in life, but more so when it is a sad experience I think. Empathetic souls feel the pain others are going through almost as strongly as they feel their own pain. Lydi**
